Moulding Building

The plot is on the border between two very different areas from the style and volumetric point of views: the socialist neighbourhood with tall collective housing units of 8 storeys one hand and the individual houses from the beginning of the 20th century on the other with low heights and framing roofs.
The concept for this projects starts from the idea of reconciliation between these two „entities”, not only regarding the form but also the more subtle level of the living experience.
Thus, the height of the building rises gradually from the street towards the back of the lot through a cascade of triangular planes that remind us of the framing roofs. By starting with 5 floors and increasing to 9, we create a link of terraces that have direct view towards the old Bucharest and offer to their inhabitants the feeling of living in the attic, intimately and individually.
